CHAIR

2015 // Judson University, Prof. Jeremy Lindsey
The chair is built with just under 8’ of construction grade 2”x4” lumber. It was created to function without traditional fasteners so it’s three pieces notch into each other to stand, and mortise and tenon connections hold the pieces when stacked together for storage or transportation. The chair shocked users as it remained comfortable for the duration of a 3 hour long architecture history lecture. This comfort is due to subtle contouring on it’s seat and back, inspired by the seat of a 1932 Ford tractor.
